Family Counseling
Family Counseling
At DSC, we see the family not merely as a supportive frame but as a genuine part of diagnosis and treatment. Much of what presents as an “individual problem” in a child, teenager, or adult may reflect communication patterns, expectations, or family roles that need to be understood and adjusted alongside any individual intervention.
We distinguish a family's need for guidance and psychoeducation from marital conflict requiring structured couples therapy, from a breakdown in parenting patterns and boundaries requiring evidence-based parent coaching, and from family trauma or crisis that needs containment and stabilization first.
DSC's team conducts a systemic family assessment covering communication patterns, the distribution of roles, generational boundaries, and conflict-resolution style. We then design an individualized counseling plan that may combine systemic family therapy, parenting-skills training, and marital conflict management, linked to any individual treatment track already underway for a family member. Success is measured through realistic indicators: reduced conflict intensity, clearer roles and boundaries, and improved communication and mutual support.
